Knocked.Out.

ARE YOU READY TO BRAWLLLLLL!?!?!?!!

The announcers voice rang loud and clear over the microphone, as Rob and I waited anxiously for the fight to start.
Last night I went to the Burlington Brawl III, at the Flynn Memorial Auditorium, and WOW was it good.
Now you may be thinking to yourself, why would a girl like myself, enjoy watching grown men beat the crap out of each other? And to tell you the truth, I'm not really sure. Perhaps its the energy of the crowd, or the pure adrenaline rush that comes from it. I was introduced by the sport to one of my friends back home who is actually a Mixed Martial Arts Fighter. (Here's his first fight, about a year ago in mass):

The venue at Flynn was great! For our $25 seats, we sat in the middle of the third row of the balcony and had a perfect birds eye view of the fight.
Now if you don't know how the ufc fights work, here's how it goes:
1. They divide the fights up by weight class (i.e. feather weight, felterweight, heavy weight, etc.,) Alot like wrestling does.
2. Then they match theses guys up, and they fight. Fighters are interesting to watch because everyone has there own style and background. Some are boxers, wrestlers, muai thai, karate, kenpo, jujitsu and so on. Some have more of a ground game rather than and standing game. It makes it all very interesting to see what they try and pull on each other.
3. It's also really funny to hear the people in the audience ( who obviously have no idea what they are talking about) scream "pointers" to the fighters. (i.e. c'mon knee him, left , right, left, right!, etc.,)
4. Winners are determined by either knock outs (which are rare), submissions ( where the other guy taps out)or by points if they exceed the time limit(they can gain for reversals and strikes). Once they have a winner, they will fight again at the end of the night for either the title or to be determined the winner of their weight class.

The fighters were really good, at this match. I always like to hear the music that they choose to come into the ring to. There was a lot of screamo angry music, which really seemed to hurt my ears than get my adrenaline pumping. There were a few that were really neat though, one guy came out to the part of 300 where Leonidas screams to the spatans : Tonight we dine in HELL! ( i thought that was a sweet idea), another man came out to Linkin Park's Bleed it out., and one guy even came out to the Music from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back ( he also had his younger brother dressed up and carrying a red light saber).

Rob and kept betting on who we thought would win the match when the guys came on to the mat, i must say that we were pretty accurate.

The first fight drew blood and really got the crowd going, although i would have to say that the second fight was probably the second best fight of the night:

I wasnt able to get the best fight of the night, because i guess i wasnt even supposed to be taking videos in the first places. But some security guard came over and asked me to put my camera away :(

I hope that there are more to come, I will defintely be going back to see more!
