Toilet Paper and Small Stalls
You can probably guess by my title that I have absolutely no clue what to blog about right now. Unfortunately, I need one more blog, so I'm forced to write about something that I don't exactly want to talk about. Here it goes!
Have you ever been annoyed by bathroom stalls being to small? Or have you gone into a bathroom where there is no toilet paper to wipe your ass with? I don't know about you, but I have!
Sometimes, when I go my Art History class, I have to go to the bathroom. The first time I ever went to the bathroom in Williams, the first thing I said to myself was I hate small stalls! I hate going into a bathroom and being taller than the walls dividing the toilets. When I stand up, I can see the other person going to the bathroom. How is that going to conceal my bum? And then, there's that awkward time where both people stand up at the same time and look at each other after both of them went to the bathroom. It's soooooo awkward!
One of my biggest pet peeves is going into a bathroom and finding no toilet paper on the holder. I absolutely hate it!! At home, it was the worst because whenever my dad finished the end of the roll, he never refilled it. I don't know why he couldn't just walk two feet over to our closet, bend over, get a roll of toilet paper, and put it on the holder. It's not that hard! So, whenever he finished the roll and I entered the bathroom behind him, which was ALWAYS, I would never have any toilet paper. And of course I wouldn't notice that the holder was empty until I had finished going to the bathroom. Then, I'm in a dilemma, and I have to figure out how to get over to the closet without making a mess of things. Believe me, it's not pretty. Another thing I hate is allllwwwwaaayyyyssss refilling the toilet paper holder. I don't mind doing it once in awhile, but every time? No! I'm not going to do that! Because my father never refilled the holder, I pretty much always had to refill it with new sheets of toilet paper. It sucked! Coming to college, I thought that I finally wouldn't have to refill the holder anymore because the cleaning ladies would, but I was wrong. Because I'm in a suite, we have to clean our bathroom AND refill our toilet paper and paper towels. And guess who refills the bathroom with new toilet paper and puts them on the holder? ME! Gosh, I hate my luck!

Haha I have never had a sensation of a stall being too tiny.
I hear UVM has just replaced all our toilet paper rolls with safe for the environment uncomfortable toilet paper. You know because we gotta combat global warming one square at a time.
Also you guys have been blogging like crazy lately. If you get your names up in each post you definantly have my vote.
Heh I'm one of those people who never puts another roll of toilet paper on. At home when my mom goes in after me she complains. Whatever, my roommate doesn't either, on move in day my mom was talking to her mom about all the thinks that will go wrong with out bathroom in our suite (since we have to clean it and all) but luckily the 3rd girl who shares our bathroom is a neat freak, and scrubs the toilet and the sink for fun. All i have to do is remember to grab some rolls of toilet paper from that box in the closet when I'm in the laundry room, and she will put them on all the time.
I guess i'm lucky to never have been in the Williams building so I've never been in a stall that small. however, in junior high when i went back to my elementary school to visit my teachers, i remember feeling awkward in that bathroom because I thought i could see over the stalls. I really couldn't, they were pretty normal sized and I definitely didn't grow that much between 5th and 6th grades. i just wanted to feel more mature and grown up, since I was in junior high and all.
I hate stalls that are really small...I always feel like other people can see me, and I know that's not a huge deal for all the guys out there, but it's not as socially acceptable for the ladies. I've learned that anytime I go into a public bathroom to check the toilet paper holder BEFORE sitting....maybe that's why I don't like public bathrooms?
Dressing rooms are the same way. I went into a Macy's dressing room once and I could literally see right over the door - not cool.
Once when I was younger, I was at a camp and the bathroom stall doors were literally six inches from the edge of the toilet. Plus the door was cut really high, so basically at the level of the toilet. It was horribly embarrassing that entire week.
Haha, I have actually had the same experiences with the Williams bathrooms. The dividing walls are just too short. You can see right over them. This seems to be a huge oversight in the bathroom planners plans. It creates one of the most awkward social situations ever. Never good.
I see that you are all commenting on the bathroom-related portion of this post. I prefer to comment on the first paragraph. It is so universal and applicable. You have nothing to blog about... I have nothing to comment about. We are brothers of the same struggle. Remember... there is always something to write... if you are willing to make most of it up. If you set your standards low enough you will never be disappointed. I'm sorry, that's just too cynical. But seriously... the logic is there...
Im pretty sure everyone has at some point experienced this travesty of human injustice. Let me add another wrinkle, when the stall doors suck so much and/or are so old that they cannot close properly. We have some truly stellar facilities on the guys side of millis 3 low, one stall doesnt even have a TP dispenser, and both the stalls down the hall require abut 5 minutes of strenuous labor to will their doors close. I could probably bitch about stalls all day but i'll stop.
