A Parent-less Parents' Weekend
So this weekend was parents' weekend and mine weren't coming. My roomate Leanne was going home for the weekend, and my other roomate Emily was staying at the hotel with her mom for the weekend. So I had the room to myself. Cool right? Yeah, it was for the first day, but then I started to look around my dorm and realized that EVERYONE had left. It was really awkwardly quiet. So I decided to go out and about and get some stuff done. I redecorated, walked in the homecoming parade, and found a few other kids that were alone too. We sort of stuck together for the weekend.
We had several movie nights and went out on the town. Which was swamped by EVERYONE and their parents. But all in all it was fun!
Now just so you dont think that my parents are cruel and don't love me. The reason they did not come up is because I am going home on friday this week. So we both figured that I could wait another week to see them and save on gas too. I am going home this weekend for my martial art studios annual dinner dance awards ( where we eat, dance, sing and have lots of fun!)I am super excited and can't wait to see everyone.
I 'm going to Uconn to see my friends that go there, stocking up on jewelry making supplies for the holiday season (there will be posts with my stuff if youre interested!) and of course laying down in my own bed, eating a home cooked meal and playing with my cats ( that i miss terribly)
I'm also bringing my neighbor down to CT with me so she can go see her friends, so its sort of like a mini road trip :)
Should be a fun trip!

So I saw that you also had a parent-less parent's weekend and felt the need to comment, but then i saw that you bought jewelry making supplies. So you make jewelry? Thats awesome, I'm in the Jewelry Making suite in living and learning. This weekend we started making a few things, and I can't wait to go to michaels soon and buy tons of beads! I'm the idiot who has tons at home but didn't bring any up. Our program director ordered wire and other materials, but i really want to go pick up my own beads. I would love to see some of your stuff =)
I wish I could go home next weekend, or visit my friends at their schools, but that would require me not being a poor college student so that i could buy a train ticket. my mom thinks i should stay here and study so she won't give me the money, ugh. have fun!
