NBR.....

So as you all [hopefully] know, tonight is the night of the naked bike ride, and it should be an interesting one for the following reasons:
1. There is a HUGE winter storm coming thats supposed to dump oh about TEN WHOLE INCHES on vermont, these streakers are going to be freezing.
2. Fun Fact: Did you know that there is no law about public nudity in vermont, only an ordinance that you can not be naked in a public park.
3. They decided to put lights on the spectators so that it doesnt end up a mob scene, which we know that it probably will because there are so many people involved in the nbr.
4. Who in their right mind would do this without any legal/illegal substances in their system?

here's a preview :

Anyways it should be a good show, I can't wait to help run it, so look for me in the bright yellow tshirt tonight, you won't catch me running around naked in this weather!

I think that the reason why their is no law against public nudity in Vermont is becaue any one who would be naiked in such a cold place deserves it purlely for there dedication. Personally I like have clouths on especially when it is below freezing. Even though it would probably be more ackward to actually partcipate in the naiked bike ride it also seems really ackward to watch your friends run around naiked.

Did anyone else get the e-mail from Jay Taylor/SGA talking about how the NBR is costing around $14,000 to put on?

In that email, there is a link to a word document that Jay Taylor put together of the various angry/outraged e-mails he has received concerning this "UVM tradition". I was reading them last night that they're fairly interesting to read. The opinions range from absolutely pissed off to thinking that the NBR should be cancelled completely.

Two things:

1. I have to give anyone who plans on participating in this event a lot of credit. One for running around ass-naked, and two for running around ass-naked in Vermont in December.

2. Naked college students+ possibility of alcohol+very cold temperature+running/biking close together = stuff is going to happen, whether is bumping up against something you didn't want to touch, getting hit with something, etc. and honestly I think there's no way to completely control something like this. There's so many different factors involved. You're running around naked...c'mon now, college students aren't THAT mature....

For the record, there is no official law about public nudity in Vermont, but in some towns people who move in from outside of Vermont get upset about nudity, and in towns throughout Vermont it is not allowed. Apparently a year or two ago an old man used to garden in the nude and his new neighbors got offended, and got a law or something put in place, and got him fined. Not cool.

For the record, I am not big on nudity, I just think people should be allowed to be nude in and around their houses if they wish.
